| Sterling Silver Hunter's Clock |
Description: Large pocket watch within a sterling silver case.
Red leather case faced with silver (hallmarked with S *B (?), anchor (Birmingham), lion passant (Sterling) and letter C (1902/03?) Next to the letter C, almost invisible, is the following engraving: px/B 431 (?)
Letters A T engraved and intertwined at top of case.
The interior of the case is lined with red satin behind the facade and red velvet underneath the clock. There is no visible hallmark on the clock itself. On the face of the clock you can make out what looks like a "J " on one line; beneath it is what seems to be" & 144 G" (the rest of the word is unreadable) with "London" written below that.
When you depress the button at the top of the clock itself and open the back of the clock, the number "7" is at the top; beneath this is the word "Argentan" (France? Switzerland?) and beneath this are the numbers "7 8 1." The clock itself is ticking away with all hands moving.
